St Martin
Island and Beaches
St. Martin (Island) is the only coral island in Bangladesh a
small island St. Martin is in the northeast part of the Bay of Bengal, about 9
km south of the tip of the Cox's Bazar-Teknaf neck of land.
It is about 8 km west of the southwest coast of Myanmar at the mouth of the Naf
River. The other named of the island is (the local name) "Narical Gingira", means the home in a coconut orchard.
How St. Martin's Island is?
St
Martin’s Island is the whole thing that hotheaded
Cox’s
Bazar is not. It is the only coastal, coral island in Bangladesh, and home
to a friendly, the population of the island is around 6500. The majorities of
the island’s inhabitants are Muslim, and they are living on fishing.
St Martin’s Island is a special place with beaches that
really do match the publicity, but as per my personal opinion is that, it is
the best beach in south Asia. . For the moment though it remains a place more
for the discriminating Bangladeshi tourist and therefore most foreign visitors
find it a far more relaxing beach. At night is very calm and quite and
electricity supply close at 10pm, why? The answer is after that a huge tortoise
come the shore and on the sandy land for lay and hutch eggs. Adventures people
must have a roaming after the sunset on the beach.
The island has an extension named Chera
Dip. It has another island very much adjacent to the island St Martin. This
land has no home and no people live there. It is very much fond by the western
people like American, British other European
Eat: All kinds of Bangla foods are available here.
But foods are very expensive here. Bengal,
Indian and Chinese and Bar-B-Que are abaleable in the afternoon. The following
restaurants are available at Saint
Martin Island from where you can have your meals. One of the
most popular restaurants is Narikel Jinjira Restaurant. Lobster is the best
attraction here.
Alcohol: Alcohol is not available in open but you will get it only hotel boys in
hidden only Burma’s item.
Attraction: The beach around. Samudra bilash , cinema shooting spot ,
tortoise , noise of the sea at night from hotel.Keya flower and fruit(not for
eat only for beauty. Chera dip. A huge coconut timbers. Watching sea fishing,
visit timber on adjacent to blue lagoon, safari Island
How to go: Nearest
airport is about more than 100 kms .Only one way to go by sea truck from
teknaf.. The only way to reach the place is the water transportation i.e. boats
and ships (mostly for tourists) from Teaknaf.
During the day, the island comes alive with water and beach sports, with
beach parties and bonfires lighting up the evening skies.
